- This position manages all activities regarding the processing of claims, resulting in higher customer satisfaction
- 30% Prepares claims for processing by reviewing, registering, and logging them in the Cross Express.
- 20% Verifies customers' addresses to ensure payment is sent to the correct address.
- 15% Handles pick-up, sorting, and distribution of mail.
- 10% Researches provider information to ensure accuracy and to increase claims processing.
- 10% Sorts and distributes reports to system administrators, claim examiners, management, and service representatives.
- 10% Provides clerical support to the Finance Department for audits and recoupments.
- 5% Distributes the claims to the Full-Service Reps; distributes supplies to the business units.
- Register, log, and verify approximately 200 claims per day.
- Reel and frame vary (300 - 500 claims per week).
- Sort and distribute reports/claims - 3,000
- The incumbent must have knowledge of the PC; have training in data entry, Cross Express, and medical technology.
- Incumbents must be organized, have basic math skills, and have strong interpersonal skills.
- The position requires excellent proofreading and problem-solving skills
- The incumbent is required to immediately disclose any debarment, exclusion, or another event that makes him/her ineligible to perform work directly or indirectly on health care programs
- The employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position.
- Occasional walking or standing is required.
- The hands are regularly used to write, type, key and handle or feel small controls and objects.
- The employee must frequently talk and hear.
- Weights of up to 25 pounds are occasionally lifted.
