Description Hunt vulnerabilities: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using industry-standard tools to identify and prioritize critical system weaknesses.Investigate incidents: Analyze security logs and event data from firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and SIEM platforms to detect potential security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and determine the scope of impact.Defend our perimeter: Develop and implement robust security policies and procedures aligned with best practices and relevant frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), configure security controls like firewalls and access control mechanisms, and participate in security awareness training initiatives.Remediate effectively: Prioritize identified vulnerabilities based on risk and exploitability, collaborate with IT teams to patch systems and implement other remediation measures, and monitor the process for completion.Stay vigilant: Actively research and stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and trends, evaluate new security tools and technologies for potential implementation, and continuously expand your knowledge and skills through self-study, training, and certifications.Requirements Technical acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (Nessus, Metasploit, SIEM platforms, etc.).Security savvy: Understanding of incident response processes, network security concepts, and secure coding practices (a plus).Communication champion: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.Proactive defender: Self-motivated with a thirst for learning and staying ahead of evolving threats, and a knack for taking initiative to improve our security posture.Technical bonus: Experience with network traffic analysis tools, knowledge of cloud security platforms (AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel), or familiarity with security scripting languages (Python, Bash) a plus.Formal education and related certifications are a plus, but are not required.
