Description There's currently a short-term contract / temporary position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Robert Half. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Partake in annual closing processes
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Efficient in ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Excellent attention to detail
Vow to meet business deadlines
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
General familiarity with Monthly Financial Statements
Good understanding of Monthly Accruals
Practical knowledge of Invoice Entry
Proficiency in Oracle
Experience with Approved Invoices
Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation
Financial Statement experience
Knowledge of Enter Invoices
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
Well-founded grasp of Invoice Coding
Proven knowledge of Invoice
General familiarity with Invoice Discrepancies
Quality experience with Review Financial Statements
Foundational knowledge in month end closings
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Deep understanding of Code Invoices
Earlier work involving Expense Accruals
Prior experience with Aging Accounts
Well-founded grasp of financial statements consolidation
Command of Excel Formulas
Previous experience working with Monthly Accruals
Solid understanding of Coding Invoices
Comprehension of Accrual Accounting
Wide ranging experience with Accrual Accounting
Solid understanding of customer invoices
Foundational knowledge in Coding Invoices
Practical knowledge of Prepare Financial Statements
Skills in Expense Accruals
