Description We are seeking a Buyer for a role based in Linthicum, Maryland. This position is in the supply chain management sector and offers a contract employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for issuing purchase orders, reviewing scrap reports, and managing debit memos/delivery receipts. The role also involves close communication with vendors and optimization of supply chain metrics.Responsibilities: Issue purchase orders Review and manage reports to maintain efficient operations Manage debit memos and delivery receipts Expedite parts as needed to meet customer demand Monitor metrics on Open Purchase Orders, Receipts, and Inventory Turns and take action to optimize levels Communicate effectively with vendors on performance and escalate significant supply chain risks or opportunities Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook to perform tasks Leverage knowledge of ERP Systems for efficient operation Apply strong analytical and mathematical capabilities to job functions Work both independently and as part of a larger team to achieve company goals Conduct purchasing, sourcing, and financial activities as per the requirements of the role.Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer role or similar position Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory Comprehensive understanding of buying processes and purchase orders Familiarity with supply chain logistics and supply chain management Experience with purchasing and procurement activities Ability to manage and maintain asset inventory effectively Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field is preferred Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and make informed decisions Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
