Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in LANDOVER, Maryland. You will be working in the finance department, focusing on various accounting functions such as bank reconciliations, general ledger reporting, accounts payable, and report generation.Responsibilities: Conduct bank reconciliations, disbursements, and balance deposits to ensure financial accuracy Handle payroll administration and prepare financial reports Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to manage cash flow Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts for financial clarity Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger for accurate record keeping Generate accounting transactions and documents, document and update procedures, and prepare special reports for management Process vendor payments through the Automated Account Payable System Aid in the preparation of monthly financial reports Assist in the creation of budgets and financial forecasts Support the preparation and coordination of the audit process Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures Maintain related records, file tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments Enhance the workflow within the Finance Office to improve overall efficiency Back up three key positions within the office as needed Assist with special projects assigned to the department Provide status reports to members in the chain of command. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. Must have a deep understanding of Accounting Functions. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary. Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) is expected. Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations is crucial. Should be capable of executing Monthly Bank Reconciliation. Familiarity with the NetSuite software is a plus. Proficiency in QuickBooks is highly desirable.
