• Participating in development activities with offshore resources.• Preparing test plans for unit testing, regression testing, system and production parallel testing.• Conducting technical walkthroughs with all stakeholders.• Supporting UAT/System Testing and resolving any technical issues faced by QA.• Coding and testing high priority and critical changes utilizing COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.• Handling Change Requests for implementing changes and owning them until closure.• Providing emergency bug fixes to production issues and resolving client research requests.• Providing production support by fixing batch process abnormal ends within strict SLAs.• Meeting with project managers to provide daily or weekly project statuses. Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent• 5+ years of software development engineering experience• Experience in JCL, COBOL, VSAM on IBM mainframes• Source Management Tools (Endevor)• Transmission Tools (FTP, Direct Connect)• Job Scheduling (CA7)• Application Production Support• SyncSORT• Easytrieve• Restarts and recovery• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Experience in technical design writing and documentation
