Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist based in Havre De Grace, Maryland. This role is with a growing company and will be performed onsite. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of our accounts receivable department and will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments within our organization.Responsibilities: Making collection calls to ensure timely receipt of payments Processing payments in a timely and accurate manner Issuing account credits as necessary Processing returns and refunds in accordance with company policies Managing the Aging report to keep track of outstanding payments Acting as the liaison between the customer and various departments, ensuring clear and effective communication Utilizing various software systems such as Microsoft Excel and IBM AS/400 to perform accounting functions Leveraging knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) and Microsoft Office Suites to streamline operations Handling billing functions and monitoring cash activity Overseeing commercial collections and managing accounts receivable (AR).Requirements Minimum of 2 years experience in an Accounts Receivable role or similar Proficient in Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) software Experience with IBM AS/400 Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites Understanding of Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Billing Functions Knowledge of Cash Activity procedures Experience with Collections - Commercial Ability to prepare and handle Aging Reports.
