Collections Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting payments for services and goods, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and maintaining customer accounts. This role is entails significant interaction with clients, answering account-related questions, and collaborating with other team members and departments.Responsibilities: Prepare, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable. Keep customer files updated, including changes in name or address, mergers, or mailing attentions. Draft standard correspondence for past-due accounts and collections. Identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files and contact account holders to request payment. Create reports on the status of customer accounts as requested. Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts. Reconcile accounts receivable. Assist in generating monthly billing statements. Maintain documentation for accounts receivable as needed.
