Description:

Reporting to the Director of Acute Care, the Clinical Nurse must demonstrate the passion to provide bedside care to a diverse and acutely ill population. The med-surg telemetry nurse should possess the knowledge and skill of how to safely apply the nursing process to assess, plan and evaluate the care of patients with various health conditions, as well as provide care for pre-and post-surgical patients including bariatrics.

Responsibilities:

As part of a new transformational team care model to improve patient care and provide nurses and nurse assistants new opportunities and support, the nurse assistant will team with an experienced virtual RN (vRN) and a bedside RN to provide excellent patient care to patients in an acute care setting.

Collaborative planning, coordinating, and delivering quality care to medical, surgical and telemetry patients that are acutely ill, as well as those recovering from post-operative procedures, such as bariatric and orthopedic procedures.

Facilitate best practices to deliver quality care through the identification, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions and communication of results to the healthcare team.

Provides education to patients and their families on medical and post-surgical care.

What you will needRequirements:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.

BLS certification required (issued through the American Heart Association)

Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities

Competency in electronic patient management systems

Preferred:

At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting

Certified MS-RN in nursing recommended

ACLS recommended

Pay Range: $35.41 – $54.19Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
