Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The job function will involve handling various accounting duties in a fast-paced environment. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be involved in various aspects of accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining the general ledger.Responsibilities: Conduct account and bank reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Assist with audit findings, ensuring all financial operations are compliant and accurate. Prepare and record journal entries, contributing to the overall accuracy of financial data. Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks, enhancing efficiency and data management. Perform month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is recorded within the set deadlines. Utilize Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and reporting, providing valuable insights for decision-making. Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Utilize NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting tasks, enhancing efficiency and data management. Requirements Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations Demonstrated ability to handle General Ledger and Journal Entries Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA certification is preferred but not necessary Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
