Great job for the summer for a college or HS student or for extra money for anyone interested in farm work.
We are a small working farm in Lovettsville. We have an opening for general labor ($16.50 -$18 an hour) and we have a position open for a detail oriented & knowledgeable horse person ($18.50 -$22 an hour depending on knowledge).
Days are flexible with T & Wed off.
Hours for either position are: Either early in AM between (6AM-11AM) or late in PM between (6PM - 9PM) or you can do a combination of hours to what works for you.
The hours listed are for warm/hot months of the year. When the daylight wanes and the temps cool down the evening hours available change to 2PM - 5:30PM. The AM hours change to 8AM-1PM.
FOR GENERAL PT LABOR: Clean run-in sheds, pick up manure around rolled bale feeders, feed /water chickens, rake their area, collect eggs, drag fields, drag riding ring, mow grass (on riding mower). M,Th,Fr, Sat or Sun. All of those days are available or a combination of those days with a maximum of 20 hours a week.
FOR SKILLED LABOR PT POSITION: Turn horses in and out, clean 2-3 stalls, must understand proper horse care, feed horses, give supplements as prescribed, bathing horses, barn upkeep and occasionally feed/water 2 potbellied pigs. Maximum of 24 hours a week.
You must be able to lift 50lbs.
At least 2 prior employer references are required.
