Position will be as contract employee with Karl Riedel Architecture, but working at and for Loudoun County, Space Planning, Policies, Design and Renovation Team at their office in Leesburg, VA. This will be a one-year contract with County option to renew an additional 3 years. Please send resume and portfolio of relevant experience for consideration. Position Description is:

As part of the Space Planning, Design and Renovation Team, the Project Professional will coordinate with Client Project Managers in various departments in relation to facilities improvements and space utilization. This position will assist the Space Planning Manager to meet space goals and transition into new space for various facilities under the capital improvement program managed by the Space Planning, Design and Renovation office. The person will work as part of the team to implement plans, vision, and targeted projects as per the directive of the Client Leadership team. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develop a positive working relationship with project managers, client leadership, and end-users to understand specific space needs of various facilities.

Work with team members in supporting physical space changes and administration.

Assist in planning and coordination of appropriate space change initiatives and project design across the client organization consistent with the Space Strategy.

Understand end-user requirements and incorporate them during the design phase prior to beginning construction.

Work on various Space Planning/Design aspects and projects in addition to historical initiatives and property lease acquisition and management.

Assist the Space Planning Manager to manage the program, program budget, and contracts associated with Facilities Space Planning and Design in accordance with procedures and guidelines.

Undertaking review of space planning guidelines/studies, identifying furniture and space needs for a specific department or group.

Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations; interprets federal and state changes in code or regulations to implement necessary procedural changes.

Assist in programming and test fitting proposed space plans for various project teams

Assist in finalizing furniture and finishes selections.

Assist Space Planning Manager and project team with documentation such as presentation drawings, binders, and color boards

Use ACAD/Revit to prepare suitable models and drawings for space planning

Assist with documenting and maintaining Revit/CAD Library for department

Manage working on numerous projects simultaneously with multiple staff members

Work under close supervision while adhering to budget, scope, and deadlines

Possess good oral and written communication skills and interact effectively with other staff

Focus on adherence to BIM/CAD standards and project/file management procedures

The following are general qualifications for proposed project professional:

The project support professional possesses an Associate Degree in Planning,

o Architecture, Interior Design. The preferred qualification for the position is Associate or Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Interior Design

He/she to have demonstrated proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM)

o Autodesk Revit Architecture/AutoCAD is required

o Experience in implementing CAD standards is required

He/she to have 5+ years of specific experience in solution design, furniture selection, and interior design of workspaces, is required.

He/she to have 5+ years of experience in the design and documentation of architecture/interiors projects

Prior experience in capital facilities management, facilities management systems (Nuvelo), capital budget planning, and program management are desired for the position.

Graphic skills in Adobe creative suite programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and lnDesign preferred for the position.

Standard computer skills for various programs including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam is required for the position.

Skill in customer service and resolving issues, oral and written communication, developing and making presentations to various types of audiences is required for the project.
