DescriptionThe Leidos DES (Defense Enclave Services) team is supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies and is currently seeking a Sr. Desktop Virtualization Engineer in a fully remote capacity, which may require infrequent travel to support our customer at Ft. Meade, MD.Position SummaryThe Desktop Virtualization Engineer will work with various Product Owners to deliver new cloud-based desktop virtualization service capabilities in Azure. The desktop virtualization engineer will develop, configure, and deploy IaaS/PaaS and SaaS services within the Azure Cloud to fulfill end user requirements.Clearance Requirement:Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)Primary Responsibilities
Designs and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architecture.
Implementing technical security best practices and guidelines for cloud based VDI solutions.
Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other team members to solve technical problems at the network, system, and application levels.
Have a significant role in the evaluation and support of application architectures across platforms to ensure alignment to cloud and application modernization strategies, capabilities and requirement sets.
Work across multiple projects and systems to develop user stories, system design document, implementation plan document, and SOPs.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Experience architecting/deploying/operating VDI based solutions.
Experience with Identity Access Management (IDAM), AzureAD, and CyberArk.
Strong scripting experience/background (using PowerShell, BASH, and Python.)
Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST.
Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, a strong analytical ability.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have current IAT Level II or higher Certification at start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience architecting/deploying/operating Azure Virtual Desktop services.
Experience developing and deploying Windows 10 and Windows 11 images in Azure Virtual Desktop.
Experience in the Atlassian tool suite, to include JIRA and Confluence.
Experience Integrating and Automating MECM/SCCM, Intune, and ServiceNow for management and orchestration of VDI services.
Recognized cloud certification, such as Microsoft Azure Associate Administrator.
