Provide lifecycle management and operational support for relational database management systems (RDBMS) and all related software to include Oracle, PostgreSQL and other relational technologies in Production and Dev/Test AWS Cloud and distributed environments
Proactively monitor, manage, and troubleshoot database operations, performance and storage
Provide database support to cross-functional Agile SAFe application development teams
Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases to ensure optimal execution of supporting applications.
Perform database system backup and recovery functions
Coordinate, configure, install software upgrades with minimal impact to the supporting applications
Plan, coordinate, and recommend security measures to safeguard databases
More About the RoleYou’ll Bring These Qualifications
10+ years experience with Oracle Enterprise Edition Database including 11g/12c/19c/21c.
Oracle EE experience in both a Microsoft Windows and Linux platform.
Demonstrated experience in Oracle EE hardening using DoD STIGs and Industry Guidance.
Demonstrated experience of TLS transport encryption for Oracle configuration.
Demonstrated experience of using Oracle Wallet for authentication.
Experience of using Oracle’s Unified Auditing methods.
Demonstrated experience in using backup utilities including datapump and exp/imp.
Demonstrated experience in using ASH/ADDM/AWR reports/views/tables in analysis, troubleshooting, and assessing performance of the system.
Experience troubleshooting using trace files and knowledge of most common ORA error messages.
Experience in bare metal, virtualized, and containerized Oracle instances.
Experience in Oracle Partitioning.
Experience in Oracle RAC with or without ASM.
Knowledge of OLTP, OLAP, and HTAP workloads.
Minimum of Security+ CE or CASP+ CE certification to meet 8570 baseline requirements.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
OCP or OCA certification.
Knowledge of Oracle 23c and the new integration options it presents.
Knowledge of Active DataGuard and/or Multitenant DataGuard.
Experience with Golden Gate, AWS DMS, and other Change Data Capture (CDC) methods.
Experience with Oracle DB Links
Experience with Oracle PDB
Knowledge of Oracle XML, JSON, and columnar capabilities.
Knowledge of using Oracle In-memory
Experience in using Oracle in an AWS Cloud environment. AWS RDS experience a plus.
Experience with other relational database platforms such as PostgreSQL.
Experience with NoSQL database platforms such as MongoDB and Cassandra.
Experience with enterprise analytical database platforms such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Druid, etc.
