Job Description

This opening is for a Senior Network Security Engineer in the Balt/DC Metro Area to perform project-based consulting with variousclients to design, implement, and support secure network infrastructures. 

When not on a client site, you will work in a virtualoffice-basedenvironment (must be within driving distance to Baltimore and/or DC though) to assist clients with network security design, implementation, operations, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.  You will develop documentation as it relates to project requirements and assist with or develop client-facing presentations of technology solutions.

In this role you will:

  • Design, implement, troubleshoot, and document network security infrastructures and related systems

  • Assess network and security infrastructure architecture and document findings and recommendations based on industry best practices

  • Research and analyze existing software releases, as well as perform/support software upgrades based on your recommendations

  • Develop detailed implementation and test plans for implementing network security technologies along with best of breed tools and technologies related to enterprise networks

  • Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to clients

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to accept a full-time direct hire role and be able to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.  Some clients may require US citizenship due to clearance requirements

  • 5 or more years of Network Security Experience with firewall exposures to (as many as possible): Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, etc.

  • Must be able to work closely with clients, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines, ultimately developing a trusted advisor relationship

  • Must live in the Baltimore/DC metro area and able to travel within the region to support clients, post-COVID

Preferred background:

  • Certifications in multiple technology areas with an active Cisco CCNP Security or CCIE Security strongly preferred

  • FTD (Firepower Threat Defense) and FMC (Firepower Management Center) experience

  • Experience with 802.1x, PKI and Certificate Authority

  • Strong secondary experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Cisco Routing/Switching

  • Cisco Datacenter (Nexus, UCS)

  • Cisco ISE

  • Cisco WLAN

  • Software Defined Perimeter/WAN
