We lead software engineering and delivery efforts across the organization, ensuring high-quality, mission-critical solutions.As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll bring deep hands-on experience in software design and implementation, along with a proven track record of leading fast-paced, Agile software product teams. This is a unique opportunity to shape impactful solutions in a dynamic, high stakes environment.They have experience managing and supervising software engineering teams in an Agile environment, and helping teams effectively break down, manage, assign, and execute necessary tasking in alignment with deliverables and organizational objectives. They lead engineering reviews and help work with their teams and organizational Software Architects to make final decisions around design, implementation, and software and system architecture. They meet frequently with their team members to establish team norms, mentoring and upskilling, and to ensure healthy and productive team work dynamics and collaboration. They are also a subject matter expert in software engineering, able to jump in and accomplish tasking quickly and accurately, and to fill in for team members as necessary.  Key Responsibilities:Establishing Engineering best practices and guidelines for software design and implementation across the organization. Provide hands-on experience, guidance, and strategy, around Design Pattern solutions and their application, Modular Code, Microservices Design, Service Oriented Architectures, Event and Test Driven Design, Model Based Systems Engineering (Model Based Design, Model Driven Design), separation of Data/Interface/Processing layers, and reusable function and code design, and similar techniques.Lead Design Review boards and discussions.Design and Develop Prototypes and Proofs of Concepts.Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing and upskilling among software engineers.Hands-on experience with at least 3 different programming languages (i.e. Java, Node/JavaScript, C#, Python, Perl).Hands-on experience with at least 2 different databases, including at least one Relational Database, and one NoSQL Database (i.e. Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) .Hands-on experience with at least 2 User Interface Frameworks (i.e. Bootstrap, JQuery, Vue, Next) .Understands APIs, Microservices, and/or Server-Client application interactions and design, with hands-on experience in at least one of those areas.Experience running code reviews and mentoring junior developers.Experience leading and presenting engineering topics to non-engineering and executive stakeholders. Knowledge of caching, indexing, and queuing technologies preferred.Full Stack Software Developers preferred.
