Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in the healthcare industry in COCKEYSVILLE, Maryland. In this role, you will be tasked with ensuring the smooth running of billing operations and resolving insurance payer issues. You will also be an integral part of the accounting team, coordinating with various departments to ensure timely invoice and collections.Responsibilities:

Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency.

Collaborate with admissions and rehabilitation departments to generate timely invoices and facilitate collections.

Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring billing and payment activities are current and accurate.

Navigate and address billing for a variety of insurance types, including private insurance, hospice, Medicaid, private pay, outpatient Medicare, Medicare managed care (with levels and RUGS), and co-insurance.

Maintain up-to-date and precise customer credit records.

Professionally address customer inquiries in person and over the phone.

Assume a leadership role in the accounting team to ensure accurate and efficient completion of all billing processes.

Handle appeals, claims administration, and benefit functions according to organizational and industry standards.

Post collections and resolve discrepancies or issues as they arise.

Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Medical Billing Specialist role or similar position

Proven experience with Allscripts or similar healthcare billing software Strong knowledge of accounts receivable (AR) processes and procedures Demonstrated ability to manage appeals effectively and efficiently Proficiency in executing benefit functions with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to perform billing functions effectively, ensuring timely and accurate billing Experience in claim administration, handling claims promptly and accurately Comprehensive understanding of medical billing procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in the field Solid interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
