Description My client is a successful, established full-service Real Estate firm in downtown Bethesda. The company is currently recruiting for a Property Accountant to join their expanding team. Reporting to the Controller, this position will have a high degree of exposure to the entire business and will be instrumental to managing the accounting processes and reporting cycle. Responsibilities: Perform detailed month-end procedures, including bank reconciliations and general journal entries. Collaborate with accounts payable to ensure timely vendor payments. Review variance explanations within monthly property financial statements and interact with property managers for follow-up. Ensure timely payments for all debt service and escrow accounts. Fulfill all lender reporting obligations accurately and on time. Monitor portfolio cash balances and make daily positive pay decisions. Assist in coordinating acquisitions and dispositions for the portfolio, taking direction from the VP, with input from Asset Management and Lease Administration departments. Prepare year-end tax packages in line with filing deadlines. Coordinate and complete the annual review and submission of real estate tax appeals, jurisdictional income and expense statements, personal property tax returns, and other periodic accounting tasks. Interact with asset management, property management, and other internal groups to produce accurate accounting information. Participate in special projects as directed by VP.Requirements Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with Real Estate/property accounting experience prioritized Familiarity with General Accounting principles and methodologies is required Experience with General Ledger management and operations Proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation Experience with Month End Close processes and procedures Knowledge of Property Accounting principles and practices is idealRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
