What You'll Do:
As a Diesel (Transit Bus) Mechanic at FleetPro, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of transit buses. Your responsibilities will include:
· Mechanical Excellence:
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues specific to transit buses, including engines, transmissions, and complex electrical systems.
Inspect and maintain essential bus systems such as brakes, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid checks, and lubrication, tailored to the unique needs of transit buses.
· Effective Communication:
Work closely with the Lead Mechanic to schedule and prioritize bus repairs and maintenance tasks.
Communicate clearly about mechanical issues and coordinate with vendors for specialized bus repairs and parts.
· Professional Development:
Maintain accurate and detailed work orders for all bus repairs and maintenance.
Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with the latest transit bus technologies and maintenance practices.

Skills & Qualifications:
Mechanical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of transit bus systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagnose electronic components specific to transit buses.
Customer Service: Strong motivation, high energy, and excellent customer service skills.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license, CDL, and ASE Certifications (preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a mechanic with specific experience in maintaining and repairing transit buses.
Education & Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Experience: 3 years as a mechanic with experience in transit bus maintenance (required).
