Safety Coordinator / Administrator - First Shift (5852)

Shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm. This is a first shift position.

American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems, and a variety of other metal accessories. ACM is seeking a Safety Coordinator / Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all safety measures are met and followed at our plant location. If you are detail-oriented and are looking for a rewarding opportunity with an established company, we want to hear from you!

Specific duties include:

Providing safety guidance and training to associates on monthly basis

Purchasing and distributing all PPE materials

Ensuring the compliance of the hazard communication standard, including Safety Data Sheets

Assisting with the onboarding of new associates

Reviewing and reporting of accidents and injuries

Verifying that forklift equipment is compliant

Maintaining the lock out / tag out and stormwater compliance programs

Ensuring that all required associates are compliant with required trainings and certifications

Performing clerical duties related to inspection and training logs

Performing internal safety audits

Assisting in safety and compliance investigations as necessary

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

College degree (Occupational Safety or other related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred

Previous experience in one or all of the following areas is preferred: OSHA Regulations, Environmental Compliance/Industrial Hygiene or another related field

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

LO/TO proficient

Ability to read, analyze and interpret business and regulatory documents

Positive attitude and team player

Physical Demand:

Associate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for a full 8-hour day.

Work Environment:

100% manufacturing setting

Associate must comply with assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement in varies areas, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes.

Associate will have exposure to typical working conditions within the manufacturing environment, including but not limited to, seasonal temperature changes, occasional exposure to exhaust fumes, dirt, dust, debris, and grease, moving forklift equipment, and pinch points on machinery.

Pay Rate Information

$18 - $20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
