Sous Chef – Asian Cuisine

We’re seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join a high-volume, Asian-inspired kitchen known for its authentic flavors and fast-paced service, in Severn, Maryland. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine in daily kitchen operations
- Execute high-quality Asian dishes with consistency and speed
- Demonstrate expert-level wok skills and understanding of Asian cooking techniques
- Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and prep standards are met at all times
- Train and lead back-of-house staff to maintain quality and efficiency
- Manage inventory, prep lists, and kitchen organization
- Collaborate on menu development and seasonal offerings
Requirements:
- Must be proficient in cooking various styles of Asian cuisine
- Must have wok experience and be confident on the line
- Conversational ability in an Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) preferred for kitchen communication
- Prior leadership experience in a busy restaurant kitchen
- Open availability – including nights, weekends, and all holidays – is required
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-first mentality
