Toki Underground is a ramen bar and izakaya located in the Harwood/Waverly neighborhood in Baltimore. The restaurant has a twelve seat bar, more than 90 seats total as well as exterior patio space for private events and programming. We specialize in tonkotsu ramen and serve delicious small plates and appetizers, as well as Japanese beer, sake and cocktails. We are open 5 days a week 5p-9/10p Wednesday-Sunday as well as for takeout all day and are working toward opening 7 days as well as weekends for lunch/brunch. The ideal candidate will have a background in Asian cuisine, experience managing a small team, have a strong business mindset, be a clear communicator and be comfortable taking initiative and solving problems. We are looking for someone who loves food, can rise to a challenge, works hard and works well with a team. Experience bartending a plus.
Role:
2-3 shifts a week, including some weekends shifts
opening & closing duties
quality control for service, food and drinks
taking care of guests, conflict and problem resolution
staff oversight, ensuring adherence to company policies
training
coordinating with AGM/GM/HEAD CHEF on operations, creative collaborations, events
Expectations:
At least 2 year of management experience and 3 years experience in fast paced, high volume restaurants
Familiarity with POS (Toast, Resy etc) and reservation platforms
Excellent communication skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs. or more
weekdays & weekend availability
Provide excellent hospitality to guests
Strong multitasking abilities and the ability to work with a team
