Overview:Responsible for strategic and tactical support of retail frontline market, regional, and branch colleagues. Aligns, supports enhancement of, and serves as a conduit between Retail management and frontline for all matters related to branch performance, durable growth, delivery, and community engagement. Commonly will lead through highly complex scenarios over a large geography (up to 6 Retail Markets). Also responsible for delivery and quality adoption of sales & service infrastructure by the frontline.Leader will be responsible for the geography of Mid-Atlantic, Pennsylvania and NY markets consisting of Upstate and Western NY. Role is posted as Baltimore, MD but leader can sit anywhere in the region in a hybrid capacity.Primary Responsibilities:

Operate as an effective peer team member within Performance Enablement, as well as within indirect teams which include Field Operations peers, Co-Directors of Branch Banking, Business Banking / Retail / WAAM / and Mortgage executive leadership.

Inform strategy and tactics across the enterprise as a funneling voice of the field.

Effectively lead direct reports through an appropriate mix of coaching techniques, heavily focused on in-person observation, guidance, performance management, and partnership building

Ensure quality adoption by the frontline of sales & service infrastructure as measured by positively trending performance, growth, employee engagement, and community engagement measurements.

Demonstrate and reinforce disciplined sales management practices by consistently inspecting, coaching and reinforcing Sales Support Teams in their coaching of the M&T Way Sales Process & Business First Calling Process

Reinforce with the Sales Support Teams the importance of inspecting, coaching and reinforcing an integrated customer experience by promoting all bank channels (TCC, Digital, ATM, Branch) during servicing and sales interactions

Commit to ensuring the Sales Support Teams are kept updated on all pertinent information through bi-weekly touch-point to increase collaboration with corporate partners, impart product knowledge, support systems training and navigation of the tools for their role.

Lead Sales Support Teams to be “change agents” in the field. Assist in providing the additional education and training on biweekly touch point calls and quarterly meetings to assist in being advocates for their roles in explaining the Why behind the direction of the bank.

Manage and execute the creation and delivery of skill-based sessions that develop the sales team around product knowledge, soft skills and driving bank growth

Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.

Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:Actions and results of this position impact retail banking’s long-term operations and financial results and as such, have extensive contact with other bank departments and senior management.Sales force includes the retail branch network that also are responsible for the acquisition, sales and service for our retail customers.Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:Direct and indirect management of Retail Sales Support team in select territoryEducation and Experience Required:Bachelors’ degree and a minimum of 7 years financial services sales and/or sales management or equivalent work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ of financial services sales and/or sales management or equivalent work experience.Education and Experience Preferred:MBAProgram Management and/or project management experience.Three years of proven managerial experience in a field based geographically spread area.M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $110,673.13 - $184,455.22 Annual (USD).
