Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant located in BALTIMORE, Maryland. In this role, you will be tasked with processing financial transactions accurately and timely, maintaining communication with vendors and resolving any discrepancies. You will also be responsible for posting journal entries, maintaining effective records, and ensuring all required documentation is appropriately filed and reviewed.Responsibilities: Efficiently and accurately process financial transactions such as vendor invoices, student stipends, travel and reimbursement forms. Handle credit card reimbursements. Identify and resolve discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, receiving reports and other accounts payable-related documents. Inform departments regarding insufficient funding in relation to Purchase Orders. Carefully review invoice submissions sent to accounts. Post journal entries to rectify discrepancies. Conduct research to resolve vendor payment and billing issues. Provide excellent customer service by answering emails and phone calls professionally. Provide administrative and audit support when required.Requirements Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related accounting role. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is essential for this position. Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is required as well. Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations is a necessity for this role. Familiarity with General Ledger operations is crucial. Capability to handle and record Journal Entries is important. The candidate should be adept at performing Month End Close tasks.
