Description We are seeking a meticulous Medical Billing Specialist for an exciting role. Based in BALTIMORE, Maryland, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining accurate medical billing and collections processes for our organization. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications Maintain and manage precise customer credit records Respond to and resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally Monitor customer accounts and undertake appropriate action as needed Correct, complete, and process claims for all payer codes Conduct follow-ups with Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, and Commercial insurance companies on unpaid insurance accounts identified through aging reports Process appeals online or via paper submission Assist in reconciling deposit and patient collections Communicate with internal and external customers via phone calls and written communications daily Maintain patient confidence and protect medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential.Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing or a related field within a Local Government setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze data effectively. Demonstrated experience in billing functions and claim administration. Familiarity with collection processes, medical billing, and medical collections. Experience with claims processing and insurance claims procedures. Ability to handle patient collections and refund requests efficiently. Proficiency in using billing software. Knowledge of medical coding principles and practices. Proactive and solution-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
