In this role you will get to serve as the document control job leader, providing technical guidance to the project leadership and teamWhat You'll Be Doing:

Serves as the document control job leader, providing technical guidance to the project leadership and team. Reviews work produced to ensure timely and accurate results. Completes performance evaluations for those assigned.

Implements document/data management solutions with a primary focus on document control and records management. Administers data/document management applications.

-Ensures that pre-established requirements (e.g., which document numbering system will be used; how many and which signatures will be required for certain approvals, etc.) are satisfactorily met throughout the duration of the project.

Processes one or more document types through all procedural steps in accordance with well-defined procedures and guidelines. Receives, tracks, and monitors documents using standard document management programs to register documents, maintain databases, and produces logs, transmittals, and other reports as required. Enters data and produces reports using other standard office automation or department-specific computer applications. Initiates and replies to routine correspondence related to area of responsibility.

Maintains an established data distribution system and schedule for the assigned project based upon client, project, and supplier requirements.

Reviews work produced to ensure timely and accurate results.

Expedites review, signature approval, and release of supplier and internally produced project documents.

May lead personnel located in other offices or field sites; completes performance evaluations for those assigned.

Establishes and maintains files and computerized indexes for active engineering documents.

Generates electronic/hardcopy reports as needed by the project or management.

Keeps abreast of department technologies, techniques and services relevant to area of responsibility. Works with other staff members as needed to develop and improve services. Responds to changing technology environment and participates in decision making activities relating to customers’ needs.

Provides assistance to users in capturing and locating electronic information.

Maintains an established data distribution system and schedule for the assigned project based upon client, project, department, and supplier requirements. May revise system or schedule as required to ensure timely approvals and distribution. Expedites review, signature approval, and release of supplier and internally produced documents.

Verifies retention requirements, arranges document cataloging, packing, and long-term storage or disposal of appropriate documents at time of closeout. Manages scheduled destruction of archived documents according to company and/or Client guidelines; provides assistance with document retrieval.

Assists junior document control staff to ensure effective implementation of project-specific procedures. Serves as liaison between support group, home office and field personnel. Interfaces with groups inside and outside the organization.

Prepares transmittals for engineering documents and requisitions.

Arranges document cataloging, packing, and long-term storage or disposal of appropriate engineering documents at time of project closeout.

Attends project meetings, as needed, to give status of requisitions or other documents and to be kept current on project status.

Delegates and directs the work activities of project document control team.

Performs other duties commensurate with functional level and responsibilities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:High School Diploma or equivalent10+ years of relevant work experience including typically 5+ years of prior document control experience on an engineering project

Expert knowledge of technical engineering documents, with ability to identify and handle drawings

Advanced knowledge of Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), Document and Material Control System (DMCS), and/or with CAD operations

Ability to handle all aspects of engineering document coordination

Ability to serve in a lead capacity

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management

Effective computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software

Effective written and oral communication skills

Advanced organizational and interpersonal skills
