Although your assignments will vary from day to day, these are some of the responsibilities you may take on:
· Perform testing of soils, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete
· Supervise drilling operations and log soil borings
· Prepare daily field reports using Microsoft programs
· Perform hand augers and concrete cores to obtain subsurface information and soil samples
· Observe and document various field activities related to the construction process, including foundation installation techniques including ground improvement and deep foundations
· Read maps and interpret engineering and construction plans
· Interact and communicate daily with project team members including contractors, technicians, and DWK project managers
Qualifications:
· Willingness to work “in the dirt!”
· Have a valid United States driver’s license, and reliable, insured, suitable transportation. Due to the nature of our business you must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on construction job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word
· Excellent writing and communication skills
· Physically capable of meeting physical demands of walking/climbing on construction sites, moving, handling testing equipment (incl. lifting to 50 lbs)
· Preferred:
· coursework in civil engineering, environmental, agriculture, forestry, geology, or related field
· ACI Level 1 Certification
· APNGA Training
