Position: 3D Printing/CAD Designer/Engineer
Contract Type: 1099 Contractor
Job Responsibilities:
CAD Design: Develop detailed and precise 3D CAD designs from scratch based on clients' project requirements, ideas, sketches, or existing specifications.
Product Development: Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and objectives, and transform concepts into practical and manufacturable 3D models suitable for 3D printing.
Material Selection: Advise clients on suitable materials for 3D printing based on the specific application, budget, and design requirements.
Iterative Design: Iterate and optimize 3D designs based on feedback, testing, and feasibility analysis, ensuring the final product meets or exceeds client expectations.
3D Printing Expertise: Possess a profound understanding of various 3D printing technologies, their capabilities, limitations, and best practices to ensure successful and efficient printing of 3D designs.
Quality Control: Implement strict quality control measures to guarantee that the printed products meet the required specifications and adhere to industry standards.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and communicating project status and updates to clients and the internal team.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any technical issues related to 3D printing or CAD design that may arise during the production process.
Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in 3D printing and CAD design technologies to bring innovative solutions and improvements to our services.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design iterations, material usage, project progress, and other relevant documentation.
Requirements:
Expert CAD Design Skills: Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, or similar) to create complex 3D models with meticulous attention to detail.
3D Printing Proficiency: Demonstrated experience and deep knowledge of different 3D printing processes (e.g., FDM, SLA, SLS), including material properties and printing parameters.
Product Development Experience: Proven track record of successfully taking projects from initial concept to final 3D-printed product, showcasing a diverse portfolio of past work.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle design challenges and optimize designs for 3D printing.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Quality: A commitment to delivering high-quality designs and products that meet or exceed client expectations.
Portfolio: Present a portfolio showcasing your 3D CAD designs and 3D-printed projects.
Compensation:
As a 1099 Contractor, compensation will be based on project scope and complexity, negotiated on a project-by-project basis.
