Role Description:

The Support Advocate has the opportunity to positively impact individuals with neurodiversities.

Additionally, the Support Advocate is responsible for implementing self-management, therapeutic recreation, community development, and career education programsto foster independence and lifelong learning. Must have two years of experience.

Registered Behavior Technicians, Bilingual (Spanish) and Multicultural Staff are encouraged to apply! We are a gender and non binary fluid team. We seek a Universal Team!

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with special care needs, disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders with activities of daily living and personal care in a community-based day program.

Implement individualized care plans and support strategies.

Maintain a comfortable, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including, therapists, medical professionals, and family members.

Collect data and complete accurate documentation of daily progress, activities, and other reports.

Assist with development of behavior intervention plans, therapeutic intervention, and career programming.

Monitor emotional, physical conditions of specially-enabled individuals.

Provide toileting, bathroom, and mealtime support.

Encourage independence and personal growth by encouraging participation in social, educational, and vocational programs.

Advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities. Promote their inclusion within the community.

Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to disability support.

Qualifications

Able to interact with individuals with special-care needs using therapeutic communication techniques.

Able to bend, push, stoop, pull, and reach. Able to sit/stand intermittently.

Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills.

Willing to comply with health & safety standards, universal precautions, ethical, and program guidelines, and submit to a background check.

Able to work independently and collaboratively with team members.

Experience and knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, multiple disabilities.

Knowledge of best practices in an educational, care environment.

Able to provide quality, compassionate, holistic care.

Vaild driver’s license with clean driving record. High School Diploma/Equivalent or Higher
