Raytheon’s Field Engineering team is looking for a Senior Field Systems Engineer to provide field engineering support. In this role you will be responsible for the launch / recovery element installation of hardware and software. You will work with a small team to maintain integrated ground segment equipment during flight tests.This mission essential accompanied position will be onsite in an undisclosed for an international assignment with additional compensation.CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required.Non-standard work week, overtime/weekends/shift work possible.What You Will Do
Perform maintenance and upgrades as well as troubleshoot problems.
Install and troubleshoot experimental hardware / software.
Provide feedback to engineering and work with offsite engineering in a collaborative manner.
Troubleshoot industry standard IT systems as well as program specific hardware, software, and procedures.
Work closely with customer representatives to provide status and integrate customer changes.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination. Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
Experience as a system administrator or development / support engineer.
Experience with Linux, Solaris, Irix or other Unix environment
Experience performing complex troubleshooting and analysis to correct system discrepancies.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Excellent communication skills necessary for problem resolution with military / corporate customers and vendors.
Experience interacting with senior external personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.
Excellent teamwork skills.
Ability to interact productively with other Field Engineers and customers in a diverse team setting.
Ability to work independently to develop timely and effective solutions to technical problems of various scope and complexity.
