1 year of medical billing experience or medical billing/coding degree
Experience reviewing EOB's and handling claim submission
EMR experience
Microsoft Office proficient
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Accurately posts third party payments, adjustments, denials, and patient payments within department mandated time frames. Validates patient payments collected by clinics for prompt posting. Accurately posts corrective entries within department mandated time frames. Maintains accurate, clear, concise, and complete account notes and other relevant information. Identifies, resolves and escalates major issues and service failures that impede success. Analyzes third-party payments, adjustments, and denials for appropriateness raising concerns and/or questions in a timely manner so that further reimbursement analysis may be initiated Creates, maintains and updates reports, as directed. Exercises confidentiality in all areas, abiding by HIPAA rules and regulations. Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday.
