Junior Accountant

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant role based in ANNAPOLIS, Maryland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing financial records based on the general ledger, accounts payable, and journal entries. You will also be tasked with conducting financial audits and developing Excel formulas for efficient computation and data management.Responsibilities: Oversee the processing and organization of accounts payable (AP) Regularly update and manage journal entries Implement and maintain the general ledger for accurate financial information Perform financial audits to ensure compliance and accuracy Develop and utilize Excel formulas for efficient data computation and management Address and resolve any financial discrepancies found in the accounts Regularly review financial data and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports Collaborate with the financial team to enhance accounting procedures and operations Maintain confidentiality of all financial data Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and the achievement of the team's objectives. Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Proven experience in a similar role such as a Senior Accountant Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) processes Strong knowledge of audit procedures, especially in relation to financial audits Ability to utilize Excel formulas effectively Experience with General Ledger management Familiarity with the creation and management of journal entries Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing financial tasks Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of accounting software and databases is a plus.
