Associate will help enhance data accessibility and interpretability by transforming raw data into help gather valuable business insights. They will help the team with design, development and maintenance of data warehouse solutions both in-house and also to cloud platforms. Data Engineer will work closely with business and IT partners and other cross functional teams to deliver purpose driven data-marts.Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.The Data Engineer 2 Designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Data Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES25-50%

Perform Planning and Analysis.

Learn and gain thorough understanding of relevant data solutions and processes in place to meet the data needs of required business capabilities.

Assist with analysis of changes needed to meet modified or new business capabilities.

Document business requirements and translate to technical specifications.

Contribute to creating plans for intended architecture updates and ensure integration with new and existing systems and warehouse structures.

Stay current on changing database and related technologies

Develop data-based solutions to meet/exceed defined business requirements.

Engineer data solutions that scale well beyond expected usage.

Ensure solutions meet/exceed necessary NIST security standards.

Engineer solutions that meet/exceed expected performance standard measures.

Engineer solutions that meet/exceed expected reliability uptime standards.

Develop ETL packages to ensure proper loading and extracting of data from databases and warehouses.

Design, engineer, and implement solutions to enable users with proper credentials to access database/warehouses.

Collaborate with architects and software engineers to ensure viability of new/modified solutions.

Collaborate with Data Governance team to ensure data is properly defined and lineage is maintained

25-50%Support Solution Testing and Implementation.

Prepare system deployment and communication plan.

Help prepare for and participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and ensure success before moving to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Assist coordinating UAT and assist testers as needed to ensure complete and accurate testing. Obtain approval from each business owner or delegate before declaring ready to deploy.

Assist with creation of deployment plan (including post implementation verification) and coordinate implementation at scheduled time.

Provide support and troubleshooting as needed.

Use your skills to make an impactMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 2.5 years of experience with ETL development and SQL queries Experience designing, developing and validating data products and related applications and/or infrastructure

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent and relevant work experience.

HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Good oral and written communication skills

Experience with Microsoft Office tools and technologies

Ability to work well in a team setting

Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle, and Agile Development Methodologies

Problem solving and consultation within data platforms

Experience interacting with cross-functional teams

Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving Military service member experiences

The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$86,600 - $119,200 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
