Experienced Physics Tutor Needed for a High School Senior
Position: Tutor for Advanced Placement Physics
Student: High-achieving senior at a competitive high school
Location: In-person preferred in Gambrills, MD–option for virtual sessions
Schedule: 2-4 hours weekly, flexible timing
About the Student:
Motivated senior preparing for upcoming AP Physics exam and college applications to top-tier engineering programs. The student has a strong mathematics foundation with particular interest in mechanical and aerospace engineering. Looking to build and strengthen conceptual understanding and problem-solving techniques.
Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field
Preference for a completed Bachelor’s and further, but will consider degrees in progress
Minimum 2+ years experience in Physics instruction
Preference for experience in college level instruction
Ability to explain complex concepts with great clarity
Ease in relating physics to real-world applications
Patient, encouraging approach with excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
Assess current knowledge and identify areas for improvement
Create personalized learning plan targeting weak points
Review and reinforce classroom material
Provide additional challenging problems for advanced topics
Prepare student for AP exam with practice tests and feedback
Compensation:
