Who we areHII Mission Technologies is seeking a FPGA Embedded Programmer to support our work with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. As the organizational expert in the field, The FPGA Embedded Programmer applies advanced FPGA Engineering theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of highly complex and advanced technical problems on the forefront of new and existing Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies. Plans, conducts, and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. The FPGA Embedded Engineer works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex FPGA designs related to a program's system and technical product development. Recognized within HII and the technical community as an authority in one or more technical specialties.HII has been providing engineering and management support to the U.S. Army Research Laboratory for over 10 years, and the exciting work we do for this customer keeps growing with new and continued support in EW and FPGA designs. Our team members are expected to be able to transition between writing C and Python and understand algorithm implementation and full stack development.Come support our work with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory and join a world class team of groundbreaking scientists and engineers!For a short video about Mission Technologies, click here: Key Responsibilities:- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs FPGA architectures, applications software, and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with designers and/or engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of FPGA architectures for prototype systems.
- Develop project requirements; analyzes system capabilities and troubleshoot algorithm and FPGA designs.
- Develop system output requirements, input data acquisition methods, programming techniques, and controls.
- Prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Maintains a liaison role for technical matters with staff and customers and acts independently on technical issues within his/her field of expertise.
- Advises program managers on challenging technical issues, coordinates the use of senior technical resources across the organization on multi-disciplinary problems, and provides technical guidance and leadership to less-experienced engineers and other technical staff.
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience in related field; Master's degree with 3 years' in related field; PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

- Experience with VHDL, System Verilog, Xilinx ISE/Vivado.
