Our 114,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.The position of Supervisor, Material Handling is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets located at Westbrook, Maine.This is a Second Shift role from 2:00 pm-10:30 pm.This role will be responsible for all activities associated with the receiving of raw materials and shipment to customers and affiliates globally. The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee all warehouse personnel, direct operations and follow up on all transactions, to ensure departmental, divisional, quality and regulatory compliance. This includes but is not limited to compliance with GMP, CAPA, FDA, DOT and IATA regulations, productivity improvements, safety standards and training/development.This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adheres to corporate trade compliance regarding import/export and corporate standards and FDA regulations for distribution, storage and handling of products.

Responsible for staffing and planning resources which include writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating with HR.

Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training modules, assigning progressively challenging tasks, and applying appropriate disciplinary action written and verbal.

Monitors daily work operations at the Production warehouse to achieve departmental goals while maintaining compliance.

Manages the Cycle Program on a daily basis and ensures the validity of the data and inventory

Maintains personnel records (i.e., vacations, work schedules, leaves of absence, etc.) and makes modifications accordingly to ensure daily goals are met.

Oversees the implementation of cost reductions and safety improvements.

Monitors work environment to determine compliance.

Identifies and implements cost reductions.

Maintains departmental metrics and KPI's.

Coordinates day-to-day activities, schedule floor operations, expedite and resolve day-to-day issues.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises employees in Material Handling. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGRequired

High School Diploma, and/or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing warehouse or Supply Chain environment

Preferred

Proven warehouse and materials management experience in life sciences, biotech or pharmaceutical industries.

Bachelor's Degree

Prior experience with accounting principles

Dangerous Goods Training Power Truck Training

Logistics training - Domestic and International Safety Training

COMPETENCIES:

Efficient with MS Excel, Word and other related products as well as ERP Systems.
