POSITION SUMMARY
The Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site. The Laborer is responsible for non-skilled tasks that are geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while also supporting the carpenters and overall project. Reports directly to the supervisor or skilled tradesman on site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
Cleaning and putting away tools and equipment at the end of each day.
Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
Digging trenches, compacting earth and backfilling holes.
Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.
Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.
Obtaining and delivering materials when needed.
Following instruction for delegated tasks.
Maintaining tools and equipment by cleaning, lubricating, etc. to maintain optimum performance.
Performing basic construction tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Ability to perform mathematic calculations, basic math, algebra, geometry.
Excels at organization, time-management, multi-tasking, problem-solving.
Acute attention to detail.
Ability to follow instruction from others and receive constructive criticism.
Ability to hear instruction from others and ask for clarification if needed.
Speak and understand spoken and written English.
A willingness to learn new skills and tasks.
Demonstrates respectfulness to others, reliability, and trustworthiness.
Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, works well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to traverse all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to travel to and from job site locations and company office.
Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers, including but not limited to: loud noises, bright or flashing lights, exposed construction materials, asbestos, lead, falling items, etc.
Must be able to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
