Lynch Landscaping Inc. is looking for a Hardscape Crew Leader to join our team and be responsible for overseeing daily work involved in assigned landscape construction projects around central Maine to ensure quality and timely completion of work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct, organize, and oversee all aspects of landscape construction sites to assure quality and timely completion of work site requirements.
Leads by example, and provides guidance and training for other team members, in regard to company policies and procedures such as attendance, conduct, and dress code.
Effectively communicates with project manager, crews, division manager, and customers.
Filling out all required job documents and passing it in a timely manner.
Ensures daily preparation of trucks and equipment, loading and securing equipment, plant and hardscape material needed.
Installs hardscape, water features, lighting, and temporary irrigation systems, retaining walls, boulders, wall stone, pavers, fire pits, etc.
Performs all tasks involved in installation such as digging, shoveling, raking, sweeping, pruning, watering, picking stones and clearing of debris.
Operates equipment such as trucks and trailer, skid steer, mini excavator, loader, compactor, saws, etc.
Uses hand tools such as wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, picks, brooms, etc.
Ensures daily maintenance of tools and equipment (cleaning, sharpening, greasing, fueling, etc.)
Demonstrates and enforces all safety measurements such as proper footwear, eyewear, ear protections, gloves, etc.
Fosters a positive team-oriented work environment.
Education, Certification and License:
Valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.
Commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A) is preferred.
ICPI and MCNA certified preferred.
Experience:
2-3 years of landscape construction experience is required.
Previous foreman or crew leader experience is required.
Previous equipment operating experience (loader, skid steer, mini excavator, and other landscaping equipment) is required.
Physical Requirements:
Stands and walks for long periods of time throughout the day.
Squats, stoops, or kneels and lifts objects from ground frequently.
Full extension of arms above head and in front of body.
Lifting, pushing, pulling weight of up to 50 pounds.
Fine motor skills for use of small equipment and hand tools.
Job Specifications
This is a full-time position.
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, working approximately 55 hours per week during our peak season. Saturday hours as needed.
Winter hours approximately 35 hours a week.
