Crooker Construction is seeking a Manager, who is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of all aspects of the Maintenance Shop, The Parts Room, The Tire Bay, The Shop Administrative Support Area and the Welding Shop.

Requirements of the Manager:

8+ years of related experience, associate degree in maintenance/construction/ management/or a related field, and/or a combination of education and experience

Exceptional customer service experience

Is familiar with all state and federal trucking regulations

Solid computer skills

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Strong supervisory experience, this person would be managing a variety operational areas

Experience team building and helping guiding employees through change

CDL Class A or B if preferred but not required

Responsibilities of the Manager:

Supervise, coach, and support the Forepersons in the above-mentioned areas to help them succeed in managing employees, setting expectations, and holding employees accountable.

Coordinate, schedule, and create a que system for all repairs and maintenance.

Breakdowns and emergencies – assist with fielding calls/requests and ensure efficiencies in dispatching of mechanics.

Oversee work order process and support Shop Foreperson in assigning work orders to mechanics and evaluating results.

Support the learning and growth of all mechanics as a mentor and by scheduling training.

Quality control reviews / spot checks / improvement

Ensure cleanliness and a safe work environment in all shops and work areas

Coordinate with the Dispatcher and drivers to review truck repair and maintenance needs.

Create and manage standard operating procedures (SOP) for the routine work completed in the shop.

Be available and approachable for all shop employees, management, and site project supervisors through multiple communication methods; email, phone, company radio, etc.

Have working knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations to enforce compliance.

Have working knowledge and work within Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHSA) and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) standards as appropriate.
