CARPENTER / STRUCTURAL SPECIALIST: FULL TIME:

Atlantic Structural, a leading company specializing in structural repair and building elevation. We are growing and have work scheduled into 2025. The offered position is a precursor to a team leadership position. There is considerable room for both career advancement.

As a Structural Specialist at Atlantic Structural, you will have the opportunity to enhance your expertise in the building preservation and repair field(structural services industry). With on-the-job training, you will learn how to effectively identify and assess structural load paths within a building, address those using relevant engineering nomenclature while formulating and then executing with the team, a plan for repairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Be a professional, honest and trust worthy ambassador of Atlantic Structural, yourself, and your colleagues;

- Conduct thorough inspections to identify, document and address scope and extent of structural defects;

- Collaborate with the team to assess findings and develop effective repair strategies;

- Determine best-practices with respect to the specifications of materials and their use, whether lumber, timber or steel and the acquisition thereof;

- Perform carpentry-based retrofitting tasks, with precision and attention to detail, occasionally utilizing some structural steel elements;

- Install formwork, piers, columns, shear support, capitals, various scarf and lap joints, framing operations, with appropriate fasteners under the initial guidance of the Project Manager;

- Work closely with the lifting team to ensure the safe and proper elevation of buildings;

- Maintain a high level of craftsmanship and adherence to company performance standards;

- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Carpenter performing successful framing, remodeling, and/or retrofitting;

- Strong knowledge of materials, carpentry tools and techniques along with familiarity of general structural repair principles (on-the-job training will be provided);

- Spatial awareness and the ability to envision the integration of our work with existing building elements;

- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills;

- Ability to work well in a team and independently;

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation;

- no smoking or use of cannabis on our projects;

- Ability to pass a background check;

COMPENSATION:

We offer a very competitive compensation package with profit sharing based on experience and merit.

REPORTING:

This position reports to the Project Manager, who will provide guidance and support throughout your training and development. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gaining valuable knowledge in the field.
