Rosemont Market & Bakery is a mission driven community market focused on connecting products from local farmers, growers and producers to customers in the greater Portland area. We buy and source high quality, unique products from Maine and away and over 60% of the sales in our markets come from products that are grown or produced in Maine.

The Retail Manager oversees all market operations and improves market performance by prioritizing process efficiency, the customer experience and the employee experience. This role requires strong organization, accuracy and attention to detail, communication and people leadership skills. Responsibilities will include building and improving both business and people process.

In this position, you can expect to:

Lead by example and support retail team members in their growth and development.

Drive market success by growing sales and reducing shrink.

Lead continuous improvement efforts in your market.

Work hands-on with produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods and dry goods from here and away.

Engage and educate our customers about what makes our local products so unique and special.

Collaborate with co-workers on stocking, packing, and merchandising projects to create a consistent and curated experience across our markets.

Applicant Must-Haves:

A passion for all food but especially local food.

Strong leadership skills and a passion for helping others grow and develop.

Strong hospitality, customer service, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong change management skills and the ability to adapt to change quickly.

Computer proficiency

Ability to work professionally and collaboratively both with a team and independently.

Ability to give, receive and apply feedback.

Focus on continuous improvement

English language proficiency required.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs. carton or bag frequently and repetitively.

Ability to bend, lift, twist, squat, and reach frequently and repetitively.

Ability to stay standing throughout the duration of the shift.
