MSWU is an organization that came about as a result of Maine’s recent decriminalization law to punish human trafficking rather than consensual adult behavior. We are committed to preventing abuse of our MSWU members and others, particularly from the harms of human trafficking. See our website MSWU.org and Wikipedia article on human trafficking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humantrafficking

1. Treasurer: the duties include maintaining a bank account and creating and adhering to a organizational budget. Also, keeping track of grants and donations received.
2. The second position is Media Liaison. This position involves preparing press releases, sending them to the media, and answering media inquiries and/or directing them to others within the organization for answering.
3. The third position is Anti-Human Trafficking Researcher. This involves research into what laws and campaigns have been undertaken to combat Human Trafficking on both the state and local level in Maine. Of particular concern is the fate of people after they are rescued, such as whether they are deported or given safe harbor or asylum.
