We are always seeking tradespeople with a strong work ethic who are willing to support the best team in the business.We are seeking a Fiberglass Technician to join our team in Southwest Harbor, ME. Our expanding network of service yards allows you the opportunity of upward mobility and a clear career path to achieve personal success.The Fiberglass Technician repairs and repaints defects in fiberglass boat hulls, decks, cabins, and small parts, using hand tools and power tools. Essential Duties:Examines parts for mold and lamination defects, such as cracks, air pockets, and cosmetic flaws.Grinds out defective areas, smooths rough edges/areas by using appropriate power and hand-tools.Cuts fiberglass; mixes resin and catalyst, applies patch to defective area to desired thickness.Shapes and smooths edges to match contour of area to be patched.Mixes gelcoat with catalyst and sprays or brushes repaired surfaces. Touches up flaws with paintbrush.Buffs and polishes repaired surfaces.Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area.All work to be performed to Hinckley Company quality standards.Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) required.Zero (0) to 1 year work experience in industrial setting preferably marine or auto body repairKnowledge of tape measure, jig saw, router, belt sander, DA-sanders, grinder, buffer, drill, and Dremel.Lift and Carry over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs. on an occasional basis (over 15% and up to 40%).Requires occasionally lifting or moving average weight material.Requires concentrated mental and visual attention in laying out or otherwise performing complex work to very close limits of high accuracy and quality.Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, push and pull and work in small and cramped spaces.Requires working under disagreeable conditions on a frequent basis where elements such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, vibration, noise, water or chemicals may be present.Mandatory respirator use for certain tasks.Other Requirements:Valid Vehicle Driver's LicenseMust be able to work flexible hours including early start times and weekends.Frequent overtime is necessaryPI236978779 Apply
