Contract Work on a Project-by-Project Basis
Our garden design company is growing and we're looking for one or two reliable contractors to help this season. We work from Parsonsfield, ME all the way over to Portland. Average hours per week can vary: might be 2 - 8 hours/week depending on the workload.
This is an ideal situation for someone who's looking to supplement another form of income. We're flexible and will schedule around your availability!

Typical projects could include:
Seasonal maintenance – spring cleanup, weeding, pruning, fertilizing, mulching; mid-season weeding; fall cleanup, preparing beds for winter.
Garden bed preparation – weeding / cleaning up debris, removing unwanted plants, adding soil amendments, removing small amounts of sod, etc.
Plant installation – digging holes, adding amendments such as fertilizer, compost, etc., watering, mulching.
Cleaning up – maintaining the cleanliness of the project site / removing debris generated while working.
No heavy machinery is used; we do everything by hand.
Requirements
Must like the outdoors.
Able to lift & carry up to 50 lbs and dig holes / weed / prune using basic gardening tools.
Able to remain standing and working outdoors for 3 – 4 hours at a time.
Interested in, or having previous experience with, gardening or landscaping.
Fast learner with an eye for details.
Must work well both as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
Should have own transportation, be reliable, and have a good attitude.
Will need to provide own gardening gloves, bug / tick repellent if desired, sunscreen, etc. (We'll provide gardening tools and whatever is needed to do each project.)
Compensation, Duration & Job Type
$25.00 per hour as an independent contractor
April through October
