Job description

Community Spay-Neuter Clinic is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant for a 3 day per week position (Monday-Wednesday) of 10 hour days in Topsham. The ideal applicant is a team player with strong communication skills and work ethic. We like to work hard and go home on time. NO ON-CALL OR WEEKEND DUTIES Hours are Monday-Wednesday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm, for full-time status at 30 hours with a generous benefits package.

Two or more years of experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter, including experience with anesthesia induction, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, IM & IV injections and animal handling is required.

Licensure or enrollment in an approved veterinary medical technology program is preferred but not required. This position is responsible for daily care of all surgical patients, assisting doctors and veterinary assistants with pre-, peri- and post-operative care of patients. We are a fast paced, high volume clinic, so candidates must be comfortable working in a surgical environment at a fast pace all day. Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with a professional attitude and possess good communication skills. Part of our benefits package includes pay for education.
