The full position title is Peer Recovery Support Director. This position involves running a program for citizens throughout the state of Maine that have lost custody of their children. The mission is to assist them in achieving and maintaining a successful reunification with those children or, in the alternative, helping them to adjust to life after the childrens' removal. Must be able to approach interactions with your staff, the clients, the court system and Child Protective Services in nonjudgmental, positive ways. Must also demonstrate a willingness to help all clients achieve their family reunification goals, and maintain rapport with Child Protective Services staff, our clientele and our resource partners within the community.
Reports To: Executive Director (for the program itself), Assistant Executive Director (for internal matters)
Job Duties:
Sit on multidisciplinary teams with the court system and provide the "voice" of lived experience as they deliberate client cases
Provide peer recovery support and career development support for your staff
Facilitate weekly staff meetings to brainstorm effective and efficient client strategies
Facilitate meetings with clients over Zoom and in-person, using your lived experience to provide peer recovery support as they work towards the goals needed for family reunification
Complete all requisite training programs identified by the organization as essential for employee success
Identify, brainstorm and encourage reunification plans
Identify, invite and oversee community resource partners to help successful client plan implementation
Perform research on clients' behalf regarding a wide array of topics
Fully document all client and community interactions in our confidential database
Rotating on-call work being available to take calls from clients on a time-critical basis
Other duties as identified by direct supervisors

Job Details:
This is a salaried position. After a six-week evaluation/training period, the salary will be $44,000 per year. Because this position is grant funded, the salary is non-negotiable.
A typical work week will be thirty-six hours, usually eight-hour shifts four days a week with a four-hour staff meeting on the fifth day. The nature of the position will occasionally require work outside those hours, including rotating on-call work.
Job benefits include health insurance and one week's paid vacation after the probationary period.
This is partially a work-from-home, telecommuting position, with frequent travel within the geographic area represented. For the telecommuting piece, applicants must provide their own stable high-speed internet connection and have a reasonably quiet space where confidential information can be discussed over Zoom without being overheard. MPRN will provide company computer and phone equipment for use. For the travel piece, client must provide their own stable transportation and insurance for said transportation, if applicable. Travel is reimbursed at a standardized mileage rate.
Given the nature of the position, lived experience interacting with child protective services is essential, and lived experience of incarceration and/or substance use with at least one year of successful recovery/reentry is strongly preferred. However, lack of a criminal history will not necessarily be a disqualification for employment.
