Rosemont Market & Bakery is a mission driven community market focused on connecting products from local farmers, growers and producers to customers in the greater Portland area. We buy and source high quality, unique products from Maine and away and over 60% of the sales in our markets come from products that are grown or produced in Maine.
The Prepared Foods Team is a cornerstone of the Rosemont brand. We strive to showcase foods grown and produced in Maine and everyone is encouraged to participate in seasonal menu development. This role requires strong organization, accuracy and attention to detail, communication and people leadership skills. Responsibilities will include building and improving both business and people process.
In this position, you can expect to:
Support the Kitchen Manager in overseeing all aspects of the kitchen team including team supervision and training, scheduling and workflow delegation.
Support the Kitchen Manager in improving business area performance as measured by revenue, expenses, sales and shrink.
Use data to develop and improve processes with a focus on efficiency, quality and consistency.
Apply industry standard best practices in a small business setting.
Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are met or exceeded.
Collaborate with co-workers on cooking, packaging, process improvement and cleaning projects.
Work with ingredients from here and away and participate in seasonal menu development
Applicant Must-Haves:
Computer proficiency
Ability to work professionally and collaboratively both with a team and independently.
Ability to give, receive and apply feedback.
Focus on continuous improvement
English language proficiency required.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. carton or bag frequently and repetitively.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, squat, and reach frequently and repetitively.
Ability to stay standing throughout the duration of the shift. .
