MDI Ice Cream is hiring for counter positions at our location in the Old Port of Portland, ME.
Pay starts at $15.50/hour + tips. Currently, we are looking for opening shifts on weekdays and Saturdays, and closing shifts on weekends. Job starts ASAP and runs till the end of October, with the option to return the following late winter when we re-open for the season.
This is a fast-paced job that requires a lot, but if you come in with the right attitude, you will find you are excited to show up to work! We aim to promote a fun and organized work environment and are looking for people to help us reach that goal.
Basic responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Scooping and serving ice creams, and making menu items (milkshakes, sundaes, floats and more!)
o Cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop throughout the shift
o Interacting with customers! (90% of the counter position is talking to people, answering questions, and helping guide them through our flavors)
o Running the register (cashing out customers, giving change, selling merchandise, ensuring accurate register drawers, etc.
