Organization Background:
The Summer Camp is a nonprofit, residential summer camp for girls, ages 7-18, from low-income and foster homes throughout New York and New England. We operate four 10-day sessions and one 13-day off-site hiking and canoeing session. Our summer sessions are held at a private camp on Lovejoy Pond in rural Readfield, Maine, located 25 minutes from Augusta.
Details and Compensation:
The employment or internship will be from June-August 17. Salary depends upon experience.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Head Cook–
The Head Cook will lead the kitchen team. They will work with kitchen staff to create work schedules, meal plans, prepare meals and snacks, order and inventory, make sure the kitchen is clean and follow state licensing compliance standards for each summer camp session.
Junior Cook and Assistants–
Will work alongside the Head Cook and the rest of the kitchen team to ensure a healthy, safe and enjoyable dining experience for staff, campers and visitors.
