BREAD + BUTTER CATERING COMPANY, located in South Portland, near 295, has been locally owned and operated for over a decade. Specializing in large events, with a focus on providing the highest quality of food to our clients all over the State of Maine and beyond.
We are looking for an experienced, creative, and independent cook to join our team in the role of one of our kitchen team leaders. This requires not only cooking experience, but an ability to be flexible, work under pressure, at times act like MacGyver, and be an excellent team player.
The nature of our job is often appealing to those looking to continue working with food & hospitality but want to take a step back from the hectic nature of the restaurant scene. We spend most of our week working with our full-time team in our large warehouse commissary kitchen, where the crew is awesome and there are no customers to interact with.
On the event days, we travel all over, often cooking in fields, overlooking oceans, and serving people who have come to celebrate a big event, not yelp about their every course. We have a vast menu that allows for no two events to be alike. We work very closely with the farmers and fisheries in our area to showcase all the bounty the state provides us & are looking for someone who appreciates the seasonality of our offerings & the creativity that allows for.
